The American Emile Heskey- Altidore

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I’ve seen it before,
but not like this
under pressure
surely going to miss,
but scores,
defies them all with ease
brings the european champions
to their knees.
Sneaks between markers,
turns with pure agility,
then a nonchalant finish
to showcase your ability.
That blend of poise and power,
both aesthetic and strong,
reminds me,
forgive me if I’m wrong,
of a certain Villa
debut goal,
that kind of aggression,
that kind of control,
which will always,
at least for me,
be reminiscent of our own
Emile Heskey.

Notes

Firstly, what a bizzare game – only USAa 2nd win in the entire tournament and they beat the European champions. Is it just me, or was Altidore’s (brilliant) goal very similar to Heskey’s on his debut for Aston Villa – or actually most goals scored by lord Heskey for that matter?
