The Anfield Magicians

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The magicians of Anfield the ball played to feet
Copied on parks o’er the stones of our streets
Their boots flashed like blades shone like stars in the night
Goals wrapped in stardust, a wondrous sight

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Dalglish played his football with passion and soul
Whilst Rushie would score the most beautiful goals
The wings of Billy Liddell they said Gabriel gave
Big Clem between the sticks like Jesus could save

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Ian St John a Gospel whom Shankly did preach
Whilst Rowdy was a wall no striker could breach
Sir Bob built his sides from the Anfield boot room
And he won 3 European cups, not one not two

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Keegan a superstar proud in the red
The apple of Shankly’s eye it has oft been said
Craig Johnstone with brilliance would take aim and shoot
And then he packed up and left to design predator boots

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Hansen and Lawro a fine double act
With precision and timing their boots would be packed
Terry Mac and Razor, and there’s Joey Jones
Aldo and Digger, Christ I wish we could clone

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Shaggy and Bugsy and Trigger and God
Zico and Chico and Charlie and Doc
All Liverpool legends and red to the core
Playing wonderful football for the club we adore.
