The Book

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It’s something
I’ve always wanted to do
But being
a procrastinator who
Is driven
by deadlines always due
A kick
required up the yazoo

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 C’mon
The poems you all know
Just
Put them in all in a row
Then
Go find a printer, no?
Who’ll
gladly do it for some dough

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Sounds so simple, climpy boy
Write a book of rhyme
As Morrissey once put it
These things take time

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Consultation, fellow bard
Before I did proceed
Peter Gouldings wisely words
Most valuable indeed

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Meticulously crafted
Carefully designed
Back and forth to printers
Final draft, please bind

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 The boxes came the other week
At last, my finished work
Took one out to take a peek
I sighed relief and smirked

Notes

I’ve finally done it and gone and written a book***
Reflections from the Shed will be officially launched in the Evergreen Bar, Cork after our game with Waterford on August 20th, all are welcome along with all proceeds going to my club, Cork City FC.
So please come along and buy one or if not they’ll be available to purchase online after the launch.
Thanks to all who helped me, especially our fellow bard Pete Goulding whose help and advice was invaluable.
****Good luck with the book Darren. Anything with Shed in the title has to be a big plus… unless you support (like many here one) of the other teams that you and i don’t ! Wonder how many clubs had/still have a stand or terrace called the Shed..anyone know? Crispin
