The Clack, Clack, Clack Is It On Its Way Back?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 T’was a close fought West London derby
A Gallas goal from our very first attack
When the noise that came from high up in the Gods
Bought poignant sweet memories back

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 St Stephens Day 2005
Versus the Cottagers at Stamford Bridge
Though to be truthful when that familiar sound filled the air
I was stood back in the Shed as a kid

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 I looked all about me in wonder
As my mind did veer slightly off track
As thoughts of Frankie Blunstone, Bobby Tambling and Bert Murray
In bright colour came vividly back

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The second goal scored caused the self same furor
That never forgot clack, clack, clack, clack, clack
Was it “Just My Imagination” as Smoky once said
Or the rattles, were they on their way back?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 The crowd gathered there cheered, then angrily jeered
As the stewards dressed vibrantly bright
Must have been told to confiscate the yuletide tools
That caused such pure match day delight

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 A boo then a hiss destroyed all the bliss
As jobsworth’s tried to spoil our fun
But the clack, clack, clack after each blue attack
Sure rattled them Cottagers, excuse the pun!

Notes

Are the rattles making a comeback? Stamford Bridge (matthew harding upper stand) was in full flow with them at the Fulham game and all the fond memories came flooding back as that old familiar sound filled the air after the first two goals went in.

The stewards might have confiscated them after that cos I didn’t hear them again?

Dellboy has just been to install a new hard-drive to replace the one that went kaput over the holiday so I know this is a bit late, but… A Very Merry Christmas and A Happy and Prosperous New Year to all of you true fans out there who post on this site.
