The Clash Of The Titans. (Speedie versus Bonds)

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The game itself had died a death
There was no excitement
When these two boys
Went head to head
Neither one was frightened

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I heard a crack
Had something broke?
This wasn’t why I came
Either one of these two boys
Could have finished lame

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The ground went quite
A deathly sound
Had silenced all around
With a shake of the hand
David Speedie and Billy Bonds
Rose from hallowed ground!!!

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 peace.

Notes

This was like two buses crashing in to each other! A nothing ball and they both went in like…..I don’t know what? The crack that I’ve described in the poem is true, but that was probably the ball busting !!!. But after we all got our breath back and could see that nobody was hurt, we watched in awe as they helped one another up shook hands and just got on with the game, thats the way it used to and still should be!!! Two mountains of men playing the beautiful game how it should be played!!! No quarter asked for and none given.

peace.
