The Cup that Kopped it – Dropped and Dented

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 So now there’s a dent
In the European Cup handle
Injured in the course of celebration
That’s nothing – Norwich City has to light a candle
In memory of fatally wounded pride
Fell a long way, they call it relegation
What heroics on that Wednesday night
Even the trophy has battle scars
Another story to roll down the years

Notes

European Cups may not have grandchildren (I’m only guessing) but they might have teaspoons or cufflinks or something and it’s nice that it has it’s own tale to tell. “I remember when I wuz dropped on me ‘ed…”
Yeah, me too, and I’ve never been the same since either…
