There won’t be any easy games this year.
There’ll be no easy bets,
There’ll be no teams that smaller clubs should fear.
Despite those rumbling threats,
The outcome of each match is still unclear,
Yes, the Eircom League regrets
There won’t be any easy games this year.

There won’t be an adherence to a script.
Just as a football bounces,
The team that soared to heights will soon have slipped.
And any side that trounces
Will very likely get severely whipped,
Yes, the Eircom League announces

That teams will scrap and fight for every point.
It might sound quite misguided,
And some might say the time is out of joint,
But no game will be one-sided
No matter which officials they appoint,
Yes, the Eircom League’s decided
