The eve of a new Season

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I should be feeling excited
on the eve of a new campaign
instead I’m feeling morose
and full of anguish and pain.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Today my club has been deducted points
with threats that it could liquidate
we are going to play at another ground
no wonder us Sky Blue fans are in a state.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 I’m usually really upbeat and ready
and can’t wait for the season to start
but all this off the field goings on
has ripped out my soul and heart.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 To be honest I think I’ve had enough
as there’s so much a supporter can take
instead of going to matches this season
I reckon I need to take a very long break.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But that’s going to be hard to do
when Football is in your blood
as I keep telling family and friends
don’t you think I’d call it a day if I could ?

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 But business men who call the shots
have brought my club to the brink
they only care about money and wealth
and couldn’t careless how we feel or think.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 So good luck to all you Football supporters
I really hope your teams do well
but please spare a thought for us Coventry fans
who are currently being put through hell !

Notes

We got hammered today by the Football League with a Ten point deduction and half the club what ever that means is in Liquidation.
Us Cov fans have been on a march,been to forums,been tying Sky Blue ribbons all over the City,but still we get kicked in the teeth.
So this new season is already a nightmare and a ball hasn’t been kicked yet ! my resolve is starting to waver.
