THE FABRIC OF FOOTBALL & FREEDOM

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It’s a rich tapestry stitched with goals
And incidents those talking points
The ones that leave you speechless
Watching language in the rhythm of limbs
Through each vein we scream
“GOAL GOAL GOAL!”

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 All of our lives made hollow
By long summers quiet listening
For the echoes of the terrace
The songs and curses, hopes and despair
All of life in a football mirror
Held up to nature, and reflected there

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 It’s not the fabric of Beckham’s gilded boots
That guides his brilliance
But the bass instinct the need to play
A saxophone don’t blow alone
Piano’s they don’t tune themselves
The beauty of passion is freedom, bending round the wall.
