The Fans Can’t Afford To Support Ingerlands Team!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Oh heady days of locked gates,
Singing fans en masse
Surrounding sacred Wemberly pitch.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Ingerlands fans of late
Are rich, without passion
Who just don’t get games drift.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Oh twelfth man come back
To cheer on Ingerland’s team
With yer mettle, spunk and spine.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Forgoing those there on expenses, plus the vat
Who thought the summer of 1966
Was a vintage year for free corporate wine.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 “There’s some people on the pitch
Who think it’s all over,
Well it is now”.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 I know this sounds a bit rich
From one whose club is in clover
But has overpriced match tickets
Scared or blown away… a once devoted Ingerland crowd?

Notes

My brother told me that Wemberly stadium for Sunday’s charity game, was almost empty, whats going on? Surely the ticket prices were reduced for that one, were they not?

Have the FA or whoever lost so much money building an over priced, well over budget stadium that every game or event has to be a top dollar priced affair trying re-coup said losses via the coffers of the genuine working class fan?

Who, it has to said is becoming pretty extinct at Ingerland home games! If you’ve one of them corporate tickets they sold off for every single event at the stadium, that’s okay, but are those people genuine fans who generate a full on passionate atmosphere, a la Kop or Stretford End that any team needs behind it and gets the stadia rocking?

Somehow I don’t think so, for a day out at the match, read corparate lunch or brunch, wine and cheese, then close a few deals with the chaps.

Rant over!
