The Favourites

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The greatest team nevers succeeds
A pundit said as a matter-of-fact
Their superiority oft misleads
Tend to fall in the final act.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 And isn’t it an awful shame
When those talented players lose?
But they’re the ones who are to blame
When they miss their cues.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Intimidation perseveres
But there always comes a time
When teams forget about their fears
And start a steady climb.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The favourites all start to slip
Efforts made in vain
Just as they surmount their blip
They’re back on the plane.
