That all our swains, swoon to her command?
Holy, fair, and wise is she;
Heaven help a response to our demand,
That she might more admirèd be.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Is she kind as she is unfair?
For justice lives not with kindness.
Truth doth to her eyes repair,
To help him of his blindness.
And, being helped, inhabits there.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Then to Shrillvia let us sing,
For Shrillvia is compelling;
She expels each mortal thing
Upon this pitch dwelling;
To her let us garlands bring.
