The Glory of the Green

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 In 2004, the old Hampden roar
Was heard from the voice of the Celtic,
Our banners flew high in Glasgow’s blue sky,
The see Larsson’s last final, witnessed.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Those dark green shirts took to the pitch
Like warriors ready for battle,
The Kingdom of Fife san loud for their side
As Dunfermline faced Celtic in the final.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 As the shone down on Hampden’s ground
The Pars took the lead before half time,
As supporters we stood, with shock as we looked
The see fans of the Pars rejoicing.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The faithful of Celtic with pride in our hearts
Saw a saviour in the name of bold Larsson,
With the ball at his feet, we stood in our seats
As he scored two goals for the champions.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But the game wasn’t done, ‘til another Celtic son
Engraved Celtic’s name on the trophy,
As Petrov in his stride, for the old green & white
His goal brought Celtic home glory.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 In our double winning year, we shed one last tear
As we sang goodbye to the legend, Henrik Larsson,
And the players on the pitch, in their green & white strips
Applauded. a hero and icon.
