The Good, The Bad and the Dougie

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Played in the days when they all had big hair
The shorts were nylon and barely there
After the game they all had a bath
A plate of chips, fag and quick half
Faded recall of those lost muddy days
Dougie and City will go separate ways
The shorts they got longer, the hair it fell out
Another man jumps from the club roundabout
Goes off empty handed into the unknown
Long empty days, like a dog with no bone
Goodbye and good luck, you cannot refute
That you’re glad to ditch the Canary tracksuit
Enjoy your retirement, turn off the heating
Eat hot tasty pies, half-price with no meat in
Rest and relax as you watch the game
Whatever the score, you won’t be to blame

Notes

Doug Livermore declined the offer of a new role within the club and has left by mutual agreement. At the age of 59, will he retire or will the pull of hamstrings be too much to resist? Coming soon, to a club near us.
