The Great Escape

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 He’s on the run
a prisoner of our plenary plight
but he must chase back
and hence, his hurried flight

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 He’s on the run
he must do box to box
and in doing so successfully
he holds the key, to Fort Knox

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 He’s on the run
and there has to be a result stolen
a theft of magnitude
a lock picked, a points tally swollen

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 He’s on the run
and there has to be a finish afforded
an end product yielded
a plus one, in the ‘goals for’ recorded

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Now if he runs to us
chest-a-thumping and arms aloft
then we’ll take him to our collective bosom
and metaphorically, caps will be doffed!
