The Ineffability of Maradona

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Football kissing badges
Planting flags and reminisces
Football impossibly nostalgic
Always forgiving
Curses for the return of this fallen god
Holding the world in the palm of his boots
Post Modern Maradona from the balcony
Sends his hashtag flunkies wild
Arms outstretched and flung wide
He captures attention and the pitch is ignored
But Diego created with a ball
What Einstein created with mathematics
New angles
Impossible equations
And yet the sadness is calculable by the words of
His estranged daughter Dalma
She speaks eloquently with supreme sadness
“I don’t know if I miss you more on or off the pitch. I think both.”
