The Jolly Referee

Oh he’s a jolly referee,
He never takes offence,
He chortles with hilarity
When things are getting tense.
Managers don’t seem to mind
Whene’er he makes a gaffe.
His cheery face, they seem to find,
Will make them grin and laugh.
He sends offenders off the pitch
While chuckling at their plight,
A very strange occurrence which
Just fills them with delight.
The crowd all love his red-faced glow,
His most amusing quirks,
For he’s the only man they know
Who whistles while he works.
