In the East Stand beneath Bramall Lane
Without doubt the season is on course
Though Warnock’s a bit of a pain

The booths are all shuttered and locked
Awaiting the Boxing Day riot
When surely the roof will be rocked

When Tudor got two in the Cup
And NUFC had good reason
To move in and snap the guy up

And hair was in need of a trim
When every fan there was your buddy
Although the conditions were grim

And merchandised nylon club strip
And everyone’s moaning and bleating
About the accountancy trip

When players were lacking in fitness
To fans celebrated in these rhymes
The kegs on the concourse bear witness

Locking my bike in the concourse at Bramall Lane, where I work – the usual stack of Tetley’s Smoothflow kegs had suddenly gone.
