The midseason break

has been known to make on-a-roll managers quake.
They think the league’s won
‘cos they’re scoring for fun,
then the midseason break messes up their fine run.
Then they’ll question the reasons to take
the three-week long midseason break.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The midseason break, oh the midseason break,
can determine a season when points are at stake.
When your tight-knitted group
is stuck fast in the soup,
the midseason break helps refresh and recoup.
And your season at last comes awake
after taking the midseason break.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The midseason break, oh the midseason break,
fans go cold turkey and shiver and shake.
They break out cold sweating,
they’re worrying and fretting,
they can’t comprehend the cold chills that they’re getting.
(Some break into Tolka to fondle the netting.)
Healthwise, it can be a mistake
to partake in the midseason break.
