The Modern Game

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The Premier League costs so much money
Myriad tales debauched debased
The Championship is now “real football”
To me “New Football” seems the case

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The ads cry out to those of big clubs
“Choose a second club” tickets here
They’re now all up for adoption
We read the message loud and clear

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Wristbands worn appear so trendy
Every cause supported by
But maybe friendships bands are more appropiate
Endorsed wholeheartedly by Bowyer & Dyer

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Won’t someone bring back Frankie Worthington
Elvis double Rock & Roll
I’d pay to watch the great man lace up
In memory of his wondrous goals.

Notes

Frank Worthington, what a man what a player.
