The Mouse and the Spouse

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 There once was a player who shall remain nameless,
Whose football career was lengthy and blameless.
He came home one morning to find his dear spouse,
Rushing around trying to capture a mouse.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Now rodents had never been this player’s thing,
And deep in his psyche, alarm bells did ring.
And as his wife prodded and poked ‘neath the bed,
The most worrying thoughts kept on circling his head.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Out shot the mouse! And the player, in his strife,
Jumped up in the arms of his most surprised wife.
She let go at once and his heart nearly stopped,
For it was the first time he’d ever been dropped.
