The Name of the Game

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Please don’t call it soccer
It doesn’t sound right to me
Don’t call it footie either
Please heed my simple plea
As for ‘the beautiful game’
Beauty is just skin deep
To call it ‘contact sport’
Ventures into disbelief
When you study closely
We don’t use feet much at all
Long ball, route one tactics
But the game; it’s called ‘football’

Notes

At Carrow Road, we call it Hoofball.
