The Old Lady Smiles…..Again in Spain.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The mood was somewhat pensive
Down the betting shop last night
When Real’s Champions League defense
Failed to spark the need to really fight.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 These Spanish boys were real perplexed
and often swore aloud in Basque
While three Juve fans and me sat back
and right enjoyed a blinding match.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 With Real needing at least to score
To warrant extra time
The manager bawled; “Five minutes more”
Like an angry Ancellotti down the line.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Would she lock us in the betting shop
Then have it on her toes
Or would Christiano, Bale (sic) Real out
To relieve my neighbors woes?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 While Juve had their chances
To finally put the game to bed
Real’s Castillas had the answers
For their last line of defense.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 So we watched the clock in anguish
While dogs raced on the other screen
If the game should run to extra time
Would we be able to hear it, indoors on the Beeb?

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Full time came at one goal each
So Juventus won the match
With a shrug the Spaniards hit the street
Questioning no doubt (Though I don’t speak Basque)
The lack of any Real commitment from their chaps!

Notes

Real Madrid go out of The Champions League, at home with a whimper, so no team has managed to successfully defend the ECL title as of yet.

Which makes me wonder If Real with their money can’t, then who can? Pirlo and Pogba were simply awesome. Pirlo reminds me of the best goalkeepers and wine….. who as they mature get even better.

My son tipped Juve to win the ECL very early on, and he could be right. A cracking final awaits.

Stay well, be lucky and keep smiling.

Peace.

Kev.
