The glasses now raised, and supporters cheer.
A dinner arranged for the winning team,
Through sweat and tears they have followed their dream..
Who’s who are invited but it’s a slight,
That one person did not get an invite.
A man who is now a part of Saints folklore,
Is shunned and not welcome no more.
No other club would act in this way,
For he lead them to a cup final day.
He is respected throughout the game,
To be treated like this, who is to blame?
The past, part of the future, can’t they see,
Where’s respect for Lawrie McMenemy

It is true and although the 76 cup winning team were invited they refused to go because their old boss was treated this way

Now instead of meeting and greeting and introducing the old directors
and management he has known for years, he has to watch the games from a executive box courtesy of a friend..

It beggars belief. jim.
