The Real Reason Girls Go To The Football.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 One time I had a girlfriend
Who wouldn’t come to the match
No matter how hard I tried
She’d turn me down like that
I’d beg, coax, cajole her
But she wouldn’t budge
I even said ‘if you come with me
Yer treats a Cadbury’s Fudge’
She just was not interested
So I decided to let it be

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 All of a sudden things changed
She wanted to go with me
Had she fallen in love
With the beautiful game?
Or our stiker from Fiji?
Our left backs an adonis
Maybe it was him
Who’s smouldering good looks
Had tugged at her heart strings
Purely on a whim?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 I approached this very cautiously
My heart might just get broke
If she tells me she’s come to the match
To ogle other blokes
I decide to have it out with her
So we both know where we stand
After all two season tickets
Almost cost a grand!

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The next match is confession time
As half time comes around
I need an explanation
For whats been going down
‘Darling I need to ask you
And please don’t tell me lies
How come you decided
To change your mind
Much to my surprise
About coming to the football
When you wouldn’t come before
Answer me this honestly
Then I’ll love you more’

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 She took a deep breath
Looked me straight in the eye
And spoke in loving tone
I thought that she was
Going to leave and catch the train back home
‘ You know I love you madly I’d never ever lie
So what I’ve to say might be a shock
And here’s the reason why
I’m not a fan of football
That I can’t deny
But my real reason for coming here?
To try a PUKKA PIE!!! (cold with brown sauce!)
