The Scream

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Pre-season friendlies can be good
Because you meet up with the fans again
Even travelling up as far as Carlisle
By car, van, or on a Virgin train.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The banter is all about disastrous holidays
And who the club are going to buy ?
It’s like you have never been away
With your half time pint and Pukka pie.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 But we still haven’t got any new players
Three going out and none coming in
We’ve been told to just please be patient
But look, the squad is looking a bit wafer thin.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 I’ve been hearing on the grapevine
That the club is now deep in the red
But we’ve been told not too worry
As usual it’s us fans who are being misled.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Still, we’ll have to grin and bear it
And just keep on supporting the team
But football can reflect life in a way
You smile, when all you want to do is, SCREAM !

Notes

As Coventry City don’t own the Ricoh Stadium, we don’t get a penny from concerts, or conventions held there, it’s so frustrating. Talking of the Ricoh, I went there the other night, for the Oasis concert, what an evening that was ! Loads of punch ups, glasses of beer, and urine (yuk) being thrown about. The paper likened it to : yobs at a football match, which is out of order, soccer has cleaned it’s act up, obviously the music scene hasn’t ! Maybe it’s time football got some well deserved praise ?
