“The Splash”

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Water
Giver of life cleanses receives
The Baptist used it making waves in Jordan
Before the Christ before the word had spoken
The Plumber needs water knows its power
And harnesses it
Works his skills with a sublime grace
The tools of his trade
Captured now immortal
Unafraid to walk on water
Balanced
With the dignity of genius.

Inspired by the famous picture of Sir Tom Finney performing miracles at Stamford Bridge (ask Crispin, he was a witness!)….

If you get a chance to visit the National Football Museum spend a moment or two at Deepdale next door where you can see Preston sculptor Peter Hodgkinson’s wonderful bronze work modelled on Sir Tom’s genius.
