The Stars Will Never Fade And Die.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The September sun has set,
Shadows are growing yet,
And we will not forget,
The day we lost you.
The cold early mist around,
Rises above the ground,
To bustling city sound,
And we will not forget,
The day we lost you.
Time now passes into years,
There have been many tears,
But hope replaces fears,
And we will not forget,
The day we lost you
The cities heart never dies,
And from the ashes rise,
Into the clear blue skies,
and we will not forget,
The day we lost you.
Fifty stars will always shine,
As hearts and souls entwine,
To bow heads at your shrine,
And we will not forget,
The day we lost you..

Notes

Dear Ed,
I know it is not football poetry but ten years ago, I was sitting switching channels at about two pm, and switched to sky news just in time to see the first tower burning, and sat there for four hours as in a trance not believing what I was seeing, those images will stay with me forever.
