THE SUBSTITUTE

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Last Saturday I was meant to be going to the football with my mates,
But I had to go a searching for them, cos I was oh so late

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I went down Loftus road and over Stamford bridge,
Turned left down White Hart lane and parked up on a ridge,
From there I could see Highbury and the valley too,
but decided to go up north via Molineux.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 I drove along the riverside, as I went past St James’s park
And got to old Trafford as it was getting dark,
From there I followed Elland road and passed several walkers
And by the time I got to Villa park, I thought I was going bonkers.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 I drove passed St Andrews, as went to Goodison park,
And then via Ainfield and on to Ewood park.
I thought I saw a Reebok, as I went down Highfield road,
And by the time I got to Fratton park I was fed as a toad.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But then Providence shone on me and showed me all my friends, Praying to St Mary and that my friend’s the end.
