The Sweet Wine Of Anfield

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 What greater grace has Man been given
What nobler deed’s been done
To guide the poets heart and dream
And every heart then won
What greater longings for the glory
All men then stand as one
From youth that perished death must answer
Though silent still her tongue
No burning sword to call to arms
No fires to ‘ere behold
For night will test the strongest heart
And passion tempt the soul
But none I say will draw the blood
Nor bless with sweeter wine
For none can make a claim on me
When Anfield bound am I.
