1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Ol’ Bluey had a donkey,
cantankerous and mean,
which was the lucky mascot
of Yungaburra football team..
it led ’em out on to the field
before ref’s whistle blew for play,
and if they went a goal behind,
got on its knees to bray…

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 One night ‘midst great excitement,
as Bluey watched upon TV,
Australia beat Uruguay
and qualified for Germany..
next day he wrote a letter
to the Melbourne Evening News,
suggesting that his donkey
should lead out the Socceroos…

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 They convened a Special Meeting
of the Australian F.A.,
then replied to Bluey,
having this to say..
“Thanks for offering your donkey,
but we must decline because
with all the World Cup cheering
we’ve already got a little hoarse…”
