The Three Lions go as underdogs

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The Jubilee celebrations are finally over
our Queen’s had her Fifteen minutes of fame
now it’s football’s turn to to take centre stage
as millions of Europeans watch the Beautiful Game.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 England for once are really unfancied
which to be honest feels a little strange
usually us fans are full of high expectations
but it does make a refreshing change.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Roy Hodgson hasn’t been in charge very long
but he seems confident and in control
you get the feeling he’ll play it safe
but who cares if we win by a single goal ?

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Spain are the Red hot favourites once again
with their passing football and exquisite touch
but even though I hate to have to say this
don’t underestimate the Germans or the Dutch.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But we’ll all be down the pubs and clubs
decked out in St.George’s Red and White
and even though we know we won’t win it
please England don’t go out without a fight.

Not long now to the European Championship and I’m looking forward to it more than I thought I would to be honest.

I love the fact everyone has finally accepted England aren’t as good as they have been portrayed for all these years.

We always have had good individual players and no doubt always will, but as a team we fall well short I’m afraid.

But at least we go there expecting to fail this time which could go in our favour couldn’t it ? So bring it on !
