The Wensum Bridge Disaster

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Beautiful people of Carrow way!
Alas! I am very sorry to say
That this season Norwich have to play
Twenty-three football matches away
Which won’t be very good.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 ‘Twas the year Two-Thousand-and-Six
When Nigel Worthington tried to fix
His team, that he had filled with grafters
When somehow he got even dafter
And said, “We’re losing games more and more oft
I couldn’t sign Steve Howard so I’ll make a bid for Lee Croft
notmean”

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 And so he thought he would fix the right wing
Which has been a problem for a long time, the fans do sing
He tried Bentley and Jonson, Rivers and McVeigh
Nedergaard and even Huckerby for some reason
But then they kept getting battered by teams like Watford
And it became apparent that they weren’t very good.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 O! Ill-fated and increasingly narked Norwich faithful
I must conclude my lay
By taking this opportunity to say
That if you don’t remove this clown
Your team may end up going down
And many sensible men do confess
Hooves and Bobinson aren’t the best
And Peter Thorne is pretty lame
So if you don’t want to end up the same
As Nottingham Forest
Pay him off with a lump sum of money before the new season starts.
