Things We’d Change

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 things we’d change if only we could
stuff we’d do for the better and the good
of the game
things we’d alter with the wave of a hand
things that the big boys refuse to understand
or take blame

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I could write lists it’d take me all day
but who’s gonna listen to me anyway
what ever happened to having our say
as a crowd?
whatever happened to making things change
how to tap the power to just re-arrange
maybe I’m alone for thinking so strange
out loud

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 we are the the mouthpiece the people on the seats
we stay loyal in vict’ry or defeat
we take it all and we follow like sheep
with no choice
we feel sanitized we feel weak
take us all away they’d be right up the creek
no-one takes heed when ever we speak
with one voice

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 ’cause we fill the stadiums but get drowned out
by muzak and corporates who don’t care about
what we sacrifice and what we go without
to be there
fans want something fans want success
fans want players who always give their best
fans want loyalty commitment and the rest
and what’s fair

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 so we phone-in and we rant about it all
but we’re just pawns in the world of football
we’re the little people and we’re so small
always
goal line technology food at the ground
ticket prices salaries never going down
everybody knows what’s going around
these days
