Thirteen Ways to Score a Goal

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 There’s the simple tap-in that the goal-poacher’s get
and the long range rocket that bulges the net

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The one that takes a wicked deflection or lucky ricochet
and the dribble past defenders before tucking it away

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The sweet delicate chip which leaves the ‘keeper on his back
and the clever team goal after a many pass attack

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The set-piece successfully brought from the training ground
and the scissor overhead kick (that’s very rarely found)

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 The one that’s steered in accurately with the striker’s head
And the high velocity volley that all the goalie’s dread

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 The banana shot or curler with varying degrees of bend
and the last minute winner that comes right at the end

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 The last way is the one where the scorer feels so dumb
Number thirteen is the own goal … unlucky for some
