This Fella I Know…..

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Will stop and take in a match…. anytime, anywhere.
Out walking his dog in the park with his wife,
He’ll see a local game going on and thats it,
He’s transported to that magic world of the football spectator.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Where the game takes over his mind.
His wife will turn around, see he’s not there,
Where she thought he was, and call out aloud
“…., for God’s sake, try to keep up will yer?”.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 …. will acknowledge her call
Turn and walk towards her
Every now and then though, he’ll quickly turn around
To see whats happening in the match.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 When he does this he’ll stop walking.
It makes no difference where he is
Every time he see’s a game of football, being played outdoors
It’s the same. Nothing else matters.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 You see…. has spent a lot of time on HMP
Much more than half his life in fact.
The simple things in life like watching a football match
Out in the open, in the park. Mean a lot to him now that he’s free
And he means to catch as many of them as he can.
Before full time’s called on the game of life.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 I always think it’s kinda funny
How some of us take such things for granted?

Notes

This is based on a conversation I had with a fella.
