It really is abysmal.
Playing Pat’s four times a year
Is certainly quite dismal.

For it’s been tried and tested.
There’s not enough variety
To keep us interested.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Throw away this ten-team league,
Admit it’s been a failure.
Thank it for it’s efforts and
Despatch it to Australia.

The First Division’s dying.
The profits only split ten ways,
The logic’s stupefying.

It’s not worked as expected.
Even in the Scottish League,
The system’s been rejected.

Let’s visit some old faces!
Sligo, Galway, Donegal
And many other places.

And loosen up the nation.
McCreevy’s only good idea is
Decentralisation.

Forget about the money and
Pay heed to the spectators.

Notes

I would much sooner play 17 teams home and away, than play 9 teams 4 times a season. The attendances in the First Division have fallen since the 10 team premier league was introduced.
