Tickets Please – Prices Crisis Or Other Vices?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Take the kids to watch the game
Are you OK? Are you glad you came?
It’s not like our Football Manager game
Without 360 degree vision it’s not the same

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Team playing in tomato sauce red
Kids want flame-grilled burgers in ciabatta bread
Buy them a Gristle and Lard pie instead
They’re bored before kick-off; ninety minutes ahead

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 You tell them that they’ve got to keep still
They hear you but you doubt that they will
They join in the singing, their voices are shrill
Off key chants pierce your ears like a drill

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 I forecast goals, with passion and pride
But chances go begging, sky high and wide
One superb effort ruled out for offside
Kids not impressed, we lost and I cried

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 The kids are devoid of attention span
Drink endless chemical fizz from a can
They’d rather sit and text jokes to their Nan
Than become a long suffering football fan

Notes

As well as ticket prices being a big hurdle, we’re spoiled by seeing the best action from all the angles, all the goals, all the time. Remember when football on TV was a rare event?

OK, I admit it, I remember when people only had one black and white TV in the Whole House, can you believe that…?
