like putty in his magician’s hands:
Claudio can do no wrong.

a silly song he sings
to lull gullible opponents
into a false sense of security.

but beneath the wisecracks
and the ready quips lies
a steely will to win.

nothing brittle about the crust;
solid foundations with
spicy, exciting toppings.

nearly man of football
now the proud owner
