To the Claret and Blue

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 To the Claret and Blue,
We’ve a glass raised to you
For the four points you’ve taken from Derry.
And it sure would be heaven
If ye made it seven –
‘Twould make us all cheery and merry.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But a word to the wise,
Keep the stars from you’re eyes.
Our love for you’s liable to alter!
If you play much the same
In this Friday night’s game,
Our feelings might very well falter.

Notes

Drogheda United had their own title aspirations at the start of the season but are now battling with Cork for third place. Shels have reason to like the Drogs as they’ve taken four points off Derry this season, and have still to play them at home. However, they visit Shels on Friday night for what is a crucial game for both teams.
