He is, then all sit down
Don’t waste yer time playing
With ball along the ground
Launch it high
Make them wonder why
What’s going on out there
He’s useless when it’s on the deck
But marvellous in the air!

Not on sacred ground
Hateley needs it airborne
If net is to be found
Defenders will need ladders
To win highballs out there
He’s useless when it’s on the deck
But marvellous in the air!

From team thats known as Leeds
Will wonder what has hit ’em
When Hateley makes them bleed
The air’s so thin up where he’s been
Spells danger for them up there
He’s useless when its on the deck
But marvellous in the air!

Notes

Saw us win a semi v Leeds was it at Villa Park? I think Hateley scored the winner, Lorimer playing for Leeds scored one from about forty yards that was disallowed. Still have no idea what for, the ref must have been worried for our keepers safety if the ball going at hundred miles an hour hit him!

I think Hateley then signed for Liverpool. Not with us for long.
