Tough As Old Bootees

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Darkly drawn and cast in lead
Then doubled in weight with dubbin
Waterproof armour for the feet
Safely encased, no blisters rubbin’

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Now feet are common casualites
In boots like ballet pumps
Metatarsus jigsaws all the rage
No protection from lumps and bumps

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Get back to black, shiny leather
These injuries just have to stop
Bring back yard-long laces and six studs
Not boots designed by Phillippe Philloppe

Notes

Red and yellow and pink and green
Orange and purple and blue
I can see football boots
And broken bones too…
