Notes

A study in the difference between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots’
with the 2004 / 2005 mid-season transfer window fast approaching.

Harry Redknapp, now in charge of Southampton, is quoted today as saying :

(the following from Teamtalk.com)

“I will have to beg, steal or borrow a few players because this group would not even get us out of the Championship,” he said.

“If there is no money and it means selling in order to get in three or four who will make us a better team then I will do that.

“We need three or four for sure. We seem to have acquired a lot of players but not enough quality and that must be sorted out.

“It will be a tough job – but I think we can stay up. I’m confident I can do that job – but it will be hard, that’s for sure!

“I suppose if you are looking to sell, then our goalkeeper and up front would be our main assets but I want to keep them. Right now I’m thinking about what players I can nick or borrow.”
