Turbulent Exhaustion

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The grass will cut our thighs
Blades piercing through our skin
The tightening of our lungs
Release the hurt within.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The faint hopes of glory
Will sustain us tired men
Lacking strength and power
Running from the lion’s den.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The shirts with evidence
Of action and battle
Like condemned men on trial
Fighting with feet in cattle.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The game will never end
‘Til the man in charge speaks
So soon comes a new start
An aim of greater peaks.
