TURKISH DELIGHT

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The Champions League 2005,
Two Great teams for the final arrive
One from England, the mighty Liverpool
the other from Italy, AC milan so cool.
The game’s not long started, Milan go one up,
another soon after, is Milan’s name on the cup?
The Liverpool fans who came a long way
could not believe it, just not their day.
A third Third Milan goal before the break,
all over now lads, its hard to take,
But an inspired team talk, changed the moods,
and the mighty reds produced the goods.
Gerrard’s header finds the back of the net,
another from Smicer, we begin to sweat.
Alonso’s penalty goes in, it’s time to rock,
while Milans support is in a state of shock
The Liverpool fans sing you’ll never walk alone
the echo almost lifted a nearby Turkish dome
Full time and extra time and the games still all square
the dreaded penalty shoot out and now everyones pulling out their hair
Dudek’s doing Grobbelar – a favourite of the past
his antics are working wonders saving from Milan’s elite cast
the Reds came back to win this game,
a spectacle never seen before,
that night in may in Instanbul
became another part of Liverpool’s folklore.
