Unavailable

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 there was a time when a young man dreamed
and longed for that one recognition
they would drop all for the honour and pride
without fear or the least superstition
but now it’s the norm to be blasé
there are better things much more obtainable
“I know which side – my bread is buttered
sorry but I’m unavailable ”

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 an’ I can’t be bothered to warm up your bench
a goalie but just third in line
who needs the hassle of friendlies
I’ve golf to fill up my spare time
yeah and who needs a cap with a tassle
an’ who needs a couple of days
with a manager struggling to say what he means
This is my stay at home phase

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 for there was a time when a young man dreamed
and longed for that one recognition
they dreamt of selection but now on reflection
they’d rather go shoppin’ or fishin’
’cause now it’s the time to be flippant
response can be quite unexplainable
“I need to be focused on fam’ly and club
so I’m here….. but I’m still unavailable

Notes

Paul Scholes, Paul Robinson , Wes Brown , Wayne Bridge……you can’t always be first choice but there’s no replacing a strong ego.. The heart bleeds for our loss. (I don’t think so)..Sounds like sour grapes to me)
