pulling tugging here in our hearts
and though no one can say
one thing’s for sure
it’s up there this feeling

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 up there with you and me at six
sleepless on Christmas Eve
the space suit the toy Dalek
or that new pair of football boots
what if they forgot or couldn’t afford it?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 up there with the night before exams
seeing the Beatles for the first time – live
or getting your first tele
up there with rushing home for Doctor Who
in black and white
going overseas falling in love
and your first kiss
or crying at the end of E.T

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 up there with things you dream of
things you long for
things you dread
filling your mind and being

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 and can you remember a ticket
pinned to your wall?
hours days weeks months waiting
staring hoping counting down the days
a pantomime a circus your first gig
or that first game
then suddenly
just like today it arrives
and you ask yourself what is the best bit
the waiting or the game itself?
who can truly say
but look and listen ..
