Not on the dotted line
Come on, he’s nine

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 They give him attention
A contract and pension
A decade before his prime

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Reputations are fine
Their interest benign
They should have given him time

Notes

‘Boychester United’ have signed a nine-year old Australian, causing media frenzy. Small boys should be trashing plants with wayward shots in the garden or playing rush goalie with their mates. What happened to carefree childhood? Can’t kids just have fun anymore?
