WAGS in their sixties

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Hubby can handle an angry press
But not a house left in a mess
Hubby can discipline anyone caught mitchin’
But he‘s a disaster in the kitchen
Hubby wants to add to the panel, a nice little mover
If only he was as interested in the hoover
Hubby has been warned, he’ll soon be swimming with the fishes
Just another excuse, not to do the dishes
Hubby faces relegation down, by being a filibuster
But he’s never near a feather duster
Hubby the hero? But they don’t know him like I do, do they?
For he’ll never plump a duvet
For Hubby, the season might be a slog
But he’ll never ever walk the dog

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Anyway, as I sit and ponder as I’m quaffing
There’s revenge in the offing!
For when he retires
And the legacy expires
He’ll have jobs, not titles, all in a row…
When I let the maid go!

Notes

To mitch = to play truant

This was inspired on reading the latest submission by the wonderful Ianthe Exall, our treasured poet who writes from South Africa.
