Waiting for season 08/09

when will I watch Arsenal play?
When, oh when will the season start
and kill all the mundane dismay?
It isn’t even August yet,
but already we yearn,
for when the next campaign begins,
and passion roars and burns.
Soon I will take to the field again,
soon I will watch Arsenal play,
soon but not quite soon enough,
I’m counting down to the day,
when the first game is played,
first whistle blown,
that familiar feeling,
like football coming home.
